      I have done the same thing: that is use the command "mesg y". Still I get the same message "write: you have write permission turned off".

      Why is this such an elusive problem. Many people have this same problem, and the answer is either very simple, that is use "mesg y", or no one seems to know otherwise.

      Why is that the creators of this software have not officially addressed this question?
